Which city is cheaper for a tourist: Stockholm or Amsterdam?

Amsterdam. I loved Stockholm but it is expensive, especially for food. You can always cut corners on sight-seeing and souvenirs, but you gotta eat and that's where Stockholm bleeds you. read more

When the day is done, it is hard to count/weigh benefits for a tourist in Stockholm or Amsterdam. In general, Stockholm is more expensive across the board. However, there are some great airfare deals to Sweden which balance the otherwise 'heavy' expenses. read more

Amsterdam is not like the whole country, look at another major city like for instance Rotterdam, a big city, but not like Amsterdam at all, different architecture, futuristic and modern, and by size more spacious than capital city Amsterdam. But keep in mind, it’s hard to say which city is “better”. both cities are “completely” different. read more

We spent a weekend in Stockholm in 2011 and thought it was just ok. And VERY expensive! Copenhagen was much cheaper (although not cheap!) in our opinions. We would go back to Copenhagen again but have little interest in revisiting Stockholm. read more
