Leipzig is a wonderful city that is known for its university (the alma mater of Angela Merkel), its churches including the one where Bach spent most of his working career, and its importance leading up to the 1989 end of the German Democratic Republic. read more
We want to visit a town called Quedlindburg in eastern Germany which is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The only way I can fit it into my present tentative itinerary for 2006 is to travel by train 3 hours from Wurzburg to Leipzig for maybe a 3-day stay and visit Quedlindburg from Leipzig for the day. read more
