The volcanoes of the eastern side of the Ring of Fire stick up through North and South America making them the closest. Most of the volcanoes on the western side are on islands like Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia. read more
Eventually that expanding ridge will force all the continents around the massive pacific plate to cover and eliminate it, creating a new super continent in its place. I hypothesize that Hawaii is just the wellspring in the center. read more
