This is an impossible question to answer as the criteria for establishing "best" is so subjective to the person making that judgement. I think Jenny Saville is astonishing but I cannot say she is the 'best". Kent Williams amazes me. John Currin grosses me out but he is wildly successful. I love the work of Gary Kelley. read more
