There's some mythological evidence that connects the royal family of Argos with Egypt, via the somewhat suspiciously named Aegyptus and his 50 (!) daughters. However how to connect that up with an actual Egyptian Pharaoh is very much unclear. read more
Several widely accepted mythological stories implied that different parts of Greece were actually colonized by Egyptians: theoretically at least the royal family of Argos were descendants of the (otherwise unknown) king "Aegyptus" so familiar Greek characters like Perseus and Amphiaraus would actually be 'Egyptian'. read more
The Greek city of Thebes was founded by two brothers, Amphion and Zethos. They were claimed to be the sons of Zeus, with a mortal, known as Antiope. It was a typically Egyptian concept for the king to state that he was born of god. read more
In Herodotus' Histories there appears a story told by Egyptian priests about a Pharaoh Sesostris, who once led an army northward overland to Asia Minor, then fought his way westward until he crossed into Europe, where he defeated the Scythians and Thracians (possibly in modern Romania and Bulgaria). read more
