Depending on your interests, it may make more sense to aim for SDSU (they have good journalism program and more business major options), but if you are undeclared and just looking to have a good time in college while you figure out what you are interested in, UCSB will probably give you more options and respect after graduation. read more
In conclusion going to San Diego State would save you money. You can get the same education for a cheaper price and you stated that it is near the beach, so that is a plus. If you like schools that have good college spirit you want to avoid UCI. At UCI, most students commute. If you have money go to UCSB, otherwise SDSU. read more
