Sharks don't’ actively hunt humans and there are less chances to meet a shark due to the fact that they usually hunt in deeper water. You are much more likely to be killed by a croc. These guys are huge, hide in murky waters, and will happily take a bite if you get close. read more

The shark is faster than a crocodile, but the crocodile can attack surprisingly. But than again the shark is more intelligent but not as good as a hunter as the crocodile. If you think about it though, you can run away from a crocodile, but you can't swim away from a shark. read more

Crocodiles kill 1,000 plus people a year, sharks 6–7. Crocodiles lay still in murky shallow water waiting for the opportunity to grab a passing animal/human.
