Since I have a degree in mathematics I would like to say it is the most important of the activities in this question. Alas, I cannot do that. They have to take classes in both and they are important as you will use both in life. The argument could go either way, math is the universal language of the world. However, imagine a world without the arts, poems, languages, explaining math, ect. I would say reading is more important. read more

Both are pretty key, and it depends how impaired you are in each, but I'd have to say reading. You can get by day to day with primary school math and a calculator, but the equivalent level of reading skills would limit you in so many more aspects of life. read more
