A2A Based on actually applying to both, Stanford is more difficult because the class size is smaller compared to Berkeley. You really need to be the best of the best to get in. Neither Berkeley nor Stanford has grade inflation based on actually being graded in both schools. read more
The second problem is that if CS is anything like EECS in its attrition rate, you run the risk of flunking out of Berkeley. While Stanford isn't a walk in the park, at least it's much harder to flunk out of Stanford than Berkeley due to its relatively lax policy on grading. read more
