Leibniz invented practical calculus, and belongs in schools. Newton invented an archaic form of calculus, and it belongs in a museum. Who invented Calculus first is a matter of contention Leibniz’s form was arguably created second, but it was more fully featured and developed. Newton started earlier, Leibniz invented it independently, he published the Calculus first - a modern criterion to clear the priority, added the Integral, and his symbols were better, so they are preferred worldwide - and all that as a famous philosopher, interested in Math not earlier than aged 25 (!), finally perhaps the last Renaissance Man. read more
