Who is a braver hero: Achilles or Hector?

Hector of course. He is the hero of the illiad. Achillies is a dog of war, admired for his prowess but personally disliked. His treatment of Hectors body disgusts his allies as much as it distressed the trojans. read more

I would say Achilles, because Achilles makes his own decisions. Hector shows courage, but it is coaxed out of him by his family and the people of Troy. Achilles chooses to sacrifice his life to avenge his friend. We should first explain that Achilles isn't invincible in the Iliad. He is simply a great warrior. read more

Hero reason number 3) After the death of his young cousin Patroclus in battle at the hands of Hector (Paris’ older brother and Troys best warrior) who believed that Patroclus was Achilles due to being dressed up in Achilles’ golden armour; Achilles did indeed challenge Hector in the battle and ultimately kills him in a face-to-face duel. read more
