I can't speak for others, but my chapter was owned by the active brothers and the alumni in a sort of LLC where each brother is a shareholder while they are alive. read more

Owned by the HQ, the individual chapter or by the alumni in some forms of LLC. Note there are specific tax laws relating to Greek housing. Owned by the University but rented to the chapter or to members of the chapter. Some Universities house their Greeks in dorms. read more
