Perhaps Pizarro because he conquered more land. The Inca empire was bigger than the Aztec one. However, after Cortes’s victory, Spain rapidly expanded into Mexico, which was more or less subdues within the century. While Pizarro opened up South America, the Spanish grasp of the continent was much more shaky, and never quite complete. read more
