Who would win a fight between a bear and an alligator?

This looks a very fun question to answer. First of all, the chance of bear fighting against an alligator would be very low.The bear would have to be dumb enough to go near a body of alligator-infested water.And a smart bear would probably be afraid of the alligator. Depends on the species of bear (brown, grizzly, polar, koala :), etc) and the arena. For instance: I bet a grizzly bear on dry land would have little trouble taking out a gator, whereas a black bear (one of the smaller bears) wouldn't last 30 seconds with an adult gator in a swamp. read more

Since an alligator's only weapon is its teeth, and black bears are quicker than alligators, it could easily slash at the bear, bite it, maybe even flip it over-- and all while avoiding the alligator's teeth. read more
