Good question, The Stadium Hernando Siles is actually 3,637 metres (11,932 feet) above sea level. FIFA actually banned games being played in La Paz some years ago but the Bolivian president, Evo Morales campaigned strongly for the ban to be lifted. Sucre lost a war against La Paz for the lidership of the country, so LP is officially the capital of Bolivia. Sucre is the historical and constitutional capital (also the judicial power is there). Nevertheless the president and other powers are in La Paz. read more
