Why are Corgis so popular?

Corgis were bred to be livestock herding dogs in Wales many centuries ago. They drive livestock forward and prevent them from turning astray, and farm families/homesteaders found them very useful. Corgis didn't appear at dog shows until the 1920s, and they were first popularized as regular house pets decades later by Queen Elizabeth II, who still keeps pet corgis close at hand even today. read more
