Why are donkeys less popular than horses?

In the US at least, I think it is because donkeys are seen as “stubborn” and hard to work with. I think many people also relate them to life in developing countries or see them as relics of the Old West. read more

Horse riding is a popular hobby all over the world from rodeos, to dressage, to racing, to competitive showing, to wilderness treks and camping, to simply having them as pets. There are more horses in the world than donkeys because there are more people in the developed world breeding and buying them for recreation, rather than just labour. read more
