Most animals take some precautions when they sleep, such as sleeping in a burrowed out hole (cave) to keep out of sight and from being seen/smelled by potential predators. read more
Humans aren’t as vulnerable while sleeping as one might think. Humans don’t tend to just fall asleep anywhere out in the open, after all. Humans fall asleep in carefully built shelters of human design, specifically made to provide significant protection. read more
I was wondering the same thing. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized it’s a question of perspective. In some ways humans are incredibly fragile, and in others we are incredibly durable. Humans die whenever there’s a single fatal event; only one thing has to go wrong for us to die. read more
While we may not often think about why we sleep, most of us acknowledge at some level that sleep makes us feel better. We feel more alert, more energetic, happier, and better able to function following a good night of sleep. read more
