Why are LEGO sets more expensive than I would expect?

LEGO's done a ton of research into this, and is very exacting about their"clutch power". Or at least, a lot more exacting than probably any other major plastic toy out there. That means more expensive molds, a more consistent and tested set of plastics, more design work, and more testing. read more

I have sets that are 40 years old and I would have more if I wasn't a dumb kid when I was a kid. MegaBlocks aren't that less expensive and they are trash! We have MegaBlocks mixed with the LEGO at work, (not by my choice,) and the MegaBlocks are worn VERY BADLY when compared to real LEGO. read more
