Libraries are quiet because mainly people go there to get lost in the world of books, to form an imaginary world on the topic they are reading about and to shut out all the extra thoughts in the deep silence. read more

Libraries obviously aren’t organisms, but the worst is the implication that people who want quiet in the library to study or read aren’t “real people.” That’s like the idiotic “real Americans” line that stupid politicians use. read more
