Yes, there are clusters of development, but there is still a lot of work to do before we compare SA to Europe or the US, specially in social development and quality of life. read more

As pointed out here 1, 2.3 the countries which make up the Southern Cone; Uruguay, Argentina and Chile, have better infrastructure, democracy, wealth and freedom than that of the rest of the South America and, to a less extent, the New World. Furthermore OECD considers Chile a developed country as of 2010. read more
