Why are so many people afraid of Pit Bulls?

Dobermen, german shepards, rottweilers… Sadly, when it comes to 'pit bulls', the term actually covers multiple dog breeds. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I will read an article about a dog attack and the media claims it was a Pit Bull or a “pitbull type dog” and when I look at the picture, its a boxer, or a lab, or a corso, or ANYTHING but a pit bull. read more

A report by the Mid-American Bully Breed Rescue says the number of pit bull attacks seems high because the breed is so numerous. Pit bulls are animal aggressive. Not human aggressive. So it is in their nature to pounce other animals. This doesn't mean they all hate other animals. they need socialization very early on. I have a 9 month old female pit bull named lucy and she is my life. She is a big baby and scared of everything until she gets used to it. read more
