Washington County has some of the most atypical and dispersed commute patterns in the area, and it's much more difficult to synchronize lights on two-way streets when there's not a predominate direction of rush hour traffic. read more

As Alex mentions, the downtown lights are very well synced, just not to go 30 mph. I believe the"target" speed is 12-15 mph. Next time you're driving through downtown, just slow down a bit and you'll catch the"wave". read more

Portland is not even close on this list. Note, this is calculating the average commute for someone that works in Seattle. In order to get an affordable house, you are probably driving in from a different county, hence the"megacommute". read more
