There are fewer than 10,000 Special Forces Soldiers in the Regiment so a representative group of black soldiers would only be 1300 spread between 7 SF Groups (including 2 National Guard Groups). To make the math easier, lets say it’s 10,000, that gives you 185 per group if they are spread evenly which they would not be. read more

In the programs that I have seen about SEALs, Army Special Forces, Rangers, etc., there seem to be few, if any, black volunteers or operators. In the book Black Hawk Down, Mark Bowden describes Task Force Ranger as overwhelmingly white, with only two black Rangers. read more
