Because there are a lot of Spanish speaking countries, and they are (historically) largely Catholic, and the Catholic Church encourages large families. So, lots of people speaking Spanish, lots of them having large families, means more people speaking Spanish. BY THE WAY, español is never spelled with a capital letter. read more
