Why are these black figs so expensive?

Black figs (Mission figs) have a 3 day shelf life. Your figs were picked ripe and will continue to ripen, then get moldy and rot very quickly. But the price is excessive, probably an error. read more

I was hoping to buy a black Madeira this year, but they are so expensive, I already lost many auction on ebay, and I dont want to pay like $150+. Ripe and ready-to-pick figs hang down, almost as if they're ready to drop from their weight (droopy), have dewy skin from the nectar and will possibly have small tears in the skin, and are soft to the touch (think peaches). read more
