Why aren't houses built with fireplaces anymore?

Wood burning fireplaces have not been built in many houses anymore because of the wood. Wood comes from trees (of course) and we don't want to have too much wood chopped down especially during the winter when you have to put in wood all the time (every two hrs for wood burning stoves and/or fireplaces) just to keep the fire going. read more
