Why aren't rottweilers used as police dogs?

In fact one notorious case that will back up my reason as to why I believe Rotts aren't used as Police Dogs is that of a Police Rottie being used in the take down of a Burglar who the Dog in question severely injured and it all ended up in court. read more

Poor breeding practices have almost destroyed this breed. They are nowhere near the working breed they used to be. I have read that there are some imports that are what the breed used to be. Sadly, the German Shepherd Dog is heading down the same road. There are far to many that are (to borrow a phrase) a shadow of their former selves. read more
