Why can t you pet service dogs?

Keep in mind that service dogs are working. They have very important jobs. If they are distracted it can be detrimental for their owners. Some service dogs are there for disabilities you can't see so just because you assume it's ok doesn't mean it is. They have to remain in work mode especially when they are out and about with their owner. read more

If someone is doing their job and you distract them, you can get them fired. If you distract a service dog, you could place someone’s life in danger. A couple of friends have service dogs. It kind of kills me not to be able to say hi to the dog, but I understand why I can’t pet them. read more
