There is really no such thing as a “heat wave” from a physics point of view, although some people will (incorrectly IMO) refer to infrared radiation with this term. Our eyes are not adapted to detect infrared radiation, although we can feel it heat our skin, and we can detect it with special instruments and photographic film. read more
