Why can't Mumbai get rid of the slums?

Reestablishing people from slums is very easy. It won't take much money and space on the ground if multistorey buildings are built and people are given small apartments there. But, the real concern is to prevent further migration of people from villages to slums. The 'pro-poor' governments haven't done much to generate employment in villages. read more
