Why can't the Paralympics be held before the Olympics?

If some one could come up with a good economic reason that minimizes or enhances the economics inside both the IOC and IPC, then maybe it might be worth considering. As some one who follows the Paralympics a lot though, I just can’t see a single worthwhile argument to put them before the Olympics. read more

On the practical front, there are several major issues why the Paralympics should take place in the same city 2 to 3 weeks after the conclusion of the Olympics. There have been several milestones in the Paralympic movement. The first official Paralympic Games, no longer open solely to war veterans, was held in Rome in 1960. 400 athletes from 23 countries competed at the 1960 Games. Since 1960, the Paralympic Games have taken place in the same year as the Olympic Games. read more
