Dumbledore had to die so Harry would realize the truth behind what Dumbledore had told him. (Similar to how adults realize how right their parents were when they go to college or etc.) Finally, Dumbledore had to die so Harry could realize what he must do, and so he could in the end bring Harry to going back. read more
