I was a teenager but politically aware at the time. Ford was generally viewed as a decent, well-intentioned, not-too-bright, political insider. He wasn't elected as Vice President or President. He pardoned Nixon, which a lot of people didn't like, but I still believe Ford thought it was best for America. read more
