Milk of the Poppy makes a person fall asleep, and Jaime feared that Qyburn would amputate his entire arm against his wishes, as Qyburn said that would be the safer course. Combining that with the feeling of helplessness, Jaime concluded that it would be safer for him not to take the Milk of the Poppy, so that he could be in control of himself. read more
