Why did Lapu-Lapu kill Magellan?

Lapu-Lapu was a chieftain on Mactan Island and enemy of Rajah Humabon; a chieftain of Cebu Island who was converted to Christianity by Magellan. Lapu-Lapu had rejected the Spanish conversion and Magellan decided to use force, much to the delight of Rajah Humabon. read more

The Battle of Mactan was fought in the Philippines on 27 April 1521, prior to Spanish colonization. The warriors of Lapu-Lapu, a native chieftain of Mactan Island, overpowered and defeated a Spanish force fighting for Rajah Humabon of Cebu, under the command of Ferdinand Magellan, who was killed in the battle. read more

I wouldn't really say that Magellan killed Lapu-lapu. He failed to do it due to Lapu-lapu's preparations for battle. read more
