My 2 cents…: He had already created a successful music recommendation application and Microsoft had offered him lots of money for it (it was a million dollars if I remember correctly). He obviously knew he had the computer skills and I think went to Harvard because it would make him more marketable later on. read more

Maybe because Harvard is the best ranked university in the world. You cite universities with better technology background like Stanford or MIT, but he was first interested in psychology. read more
