Sasuke didn't join Akatsuki as a full-fledged member, he and Taka were more like affiliates of Tobi owing to his vendetta against Konoha for manipulating Itachi into slaughtering the clan. Their goals just coincided, so it was in their best interests to co-operate. read more
Best Answer: No, he didn't (technically) join the Akatsuki. He created a team called Team Hebi which consisted of Jugo, Sasuke, Karin, and Sugetsu. Sasuke later fights and kills Itachi, and is found bloodies and bruised by Tobi. He takes him back to his base and explains to him that Itachi was actually a good person. read more
