Saulus Paulus did not persecute "Christians." Christians as a seperate entity or group did not yet exist in Paul's time. He persecuted other Jews who were what we might call "Jesus beleivers" Jews who advocated to other Jews in the synagogues a belief in Jesus as the soon returning messiah of Israel. read more
