Hello, there. The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park closed in 2013, unfortunately. It was a non-profit and I believe that played a large role in its permanent closure. However, a good substitute might be the fairly new, and changing,Las Vegas Springs Preserve. read more

The Las Vegas Zoo (official name: Southern Nevada Zoological Botanical Park) has closed for good after years of mismanagement. The zoo’s director, Pat Dingle, a name we’re not making up, agreed to formally close the zoo after yet another complaint was filed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. read more

The zoo has been closed and the animals have been rehomed. According to the local las vegas news stations all of the zookeepers walked off of the job. The USDA is also involved with the rehoming off the animals. read more
