Chimps aren't going to evolve into humans because we didn't evolve from chimps. Chimps and humans share a common ancestor. The two species (humans and chimps, bonobos, etc.) are both descended from this ancestor, from which our evolutionary trees split some 7 million years ago. read more

Given enough time Chimps might evolve in to something else but evolving in to humans means keeping humans as a goal that the chimps are striving to achieve.
