The Tornado F.3 was retired because it was replaced by the Typhoon in the air defence role; the Tornado GR.4 is still in service and is lobbing laser-guided gift packages at Daesh targets in Iraq and Syria (Op SHADER) at the moment. The Harrier GR.9s were retired for two reasons. read more
