At the Tehran Conference it was decided that an invasion of NW Europe would occur in Spring '44, with a coinciding invasion of Southern France. After Overlord in June, much of the invasion 'kit' (landing craft, etc) actually had to be ferried to the Med so it could be used in Operation Dragoon. read more
