When the player hits from the opposite side, a curveball turns towards the hitter and is easier to hit. A screwball would be harder to hit for these players, though. However, a screwball is harder to throw and most pitchers are much better with curveballs. read more
Wood bats are intentional in major league baseball because they are not good choices to hit a baseball. Metal bats hold form on impact with the ball through the entire thick shaft of the bat, but wood bats really only hold form on a very small part of the center of the shaft. read more
