Why do Basset Hounds sleep so much?

Ringo is 5 or 6ish and sleeps ALL THE TIME! I swear he sleeps for about 20 hours a day. He LOVES to go on a walks and to the dog park but if I didn't do those things with him I'm fairly certain he would be content to just sleep all day. read more

In actuality she really does sleep at least 21 hours a day. Some of it I'm sure she is just relaxing and not actually sleeping, but she doesn't exercise unless we force her to. read more

Well, I don’t know if you have a Basset or are thinking of getting one. They do not necessarily sleep more then any other dogs. They are actually high energy dogs. read more
