Why a signature is left is possibly because of a compulsion to commit a crime in a fashion that individualizes the crime and separates that crime from others. This is could be a need to seek fame and attention without getting caught, in that crimes that are publicized draw the public's attention to this crime or series of crimes, and one could silently take pride in beating the system. read more
