Why do different religions have different God(s)?

Many people do not want a relationship with a God who is sovereign and omnipotent. So they imagine God as being more of a mystical force than a personal and sovereign ruler. Different religions have different gods exactly because they are different religions, each faith has different beliefs and theologies. It is not like all religions in human history sprang up from one common ancestor religion, or at least no academics have been able to find any shred of evidence to suggest this. read more
