Why do Filipinos forget the Philippine history?

Before giving an answer, I will ask what aspects or chunks of Philippine history are certainly taken for granted by Filipinos? If by 'forget' means 'not learning from it', then it's not just Filipinos but almost all people in the world regardless of nationality. read more

To summarize, Filipinos forget not the facts but the lessons to be learned from Philippine history because school does not emphasize these. Filipinos will never learn from school that our tendency to be divided among ourselves in the face of an oncoming enemy is what helped the Spaniards, Americans and Japanese to occupy us. read more

TLDR: Why are a lot of Filipinos here in America so obsessed with trying to being white and acting like being a Filipino is a bad thing. I don't see how this is specifically being obsessed with being American or white. read more
