In my view, most owners mainly attend games because they like football and they like owning a team. (By the way, watch the documentary series called Hard Knocks. You really get a feel for the owners’ love of the sport and their desire to be part of the team, not as an investor but as a quasi-general manager. read more

the NFL and the teams share the same revenue stream. Teams can have some autonomy over certain parts (team stores, merchandise, ticket sales, etc.), but the NFL handles some deals that benefit all teams (TV revenue been the major one). read more
