Well they shouldn't, at least not automatically. But we need more explanation. Do you mean every night before you go to sleep, you look at them and they are red? Or they get red whenever you are tired because you haven't had enough sleep? read more

See your eye doctor and describe your symptoms especially the timing of them. If your eyes are red when you wake up, you may have an inflammation of your eyes that accumulates overnight called blepharitis. Again see your eye doctor.
